Waarom heet Vancouver Vancouver?
De stad is vernoemd naar de Engelse kapitein George Vancouver, een nazaat uit het Nederlandse adellijke geslacht Van Coeverden. Hij verkende grote delen van British Columbia in de achttiende eeuw. De stad heeft een inwonertal van 631.486 (in 2016), en in de agglomeratie wonen 2.313.328 mensen.
